The magnificent fountain located in Lyon's central square (Place des Terreaux) was created by Frédéric Auguste Bartholdi. The fountain is a popular spot for friends to meet and for tourist to gather. There are a number of good outdoor restaurants nearby.
Bartholdi's best known sculpture was called "Liberty Enlightening the World". It is more commonly known as the "Statue of Liberty".
The Bartholdi Fountain can be found in Lyon's first arrondissement near Lyon's City Hall.
